Since we are preparing for the big move D decided to take down our christmas tree yesterday. No problem, right? Wrong. The tree was already half dead and contained no needles at all from about the middle down, just brown ugly bare branches. We aren't sure if the dog was peeing on it, although there wasn't that dog pee odor (we had that problem last year) or if he was eating it.. we assumed he was eating it, only because he in the process was eating all the ornaments and had mysteriously eaten about five gold christmas balls. So the tree gets taken down and proceeds to leave the rest of its pine needles imbedded into my living room carpet. So you couldn't walk through the living room without shoes. Everytime one of the kids did we hear this "ouch, ouch" coming from in there. So, we, being the clean and well organized parents that we are decided to vacumn. D proceeds to vacumn the majority of the pine needles up, only to realize that the sweeper bag is on wrong and the pine needle covered living room is now enclosed is a huge dust ball. Absolutely huge, and covering everything and everyone is dirt dust, and you got it pine needles. So now there are pine needles everywhere, on the furniture, static clung to the barbie house, computer, TV you name it. Needless to say, we spent the majority of the night (kids too because hailey couldn't possibly settle for having pine needles in her every so new and clean barbie house) cleaning of pine needles. I was still reluctant to walk downstairs in my bare feet this morning, so I put on my shoes before going downstairs. Aww.. the joys of Christmas.
This blog is a brief glimpse into the crazy and sometimes abnoraml world of my family.
