After Christmas Dust

Since we are preparing for the big move D decided to take down our christmas tree yesterday. No problem, right? Wrong. The tree was already half dead and contained no needles at all from about the middle down, just brown ugly bare branches. We aren't sure if the dog was peeing on it, although there wasn't that dog pee odor (we had that problem last year) or if he was eating it.. we assumed he was eating it, only because he in the process was eating all the ornaments and had mysteriously eaten about five gold christmas balls. So the tree gets taken down and proceeds to leave the rest of its pine needles imbedded into my living room carpet. So you couldn't walk through the living room without shoes. Everytime one of the kids did we hear this "ouch, ouch" coming from in there. So, we, being the clean and well organized parents that we are decided to vacumn. D proceeds to vacumn the majority of the pine needles up, only to realize that the sweeper bag is on wrong and the pine needle covered living room is now enclosed is a huge dust ball. Absolutely huge, and covering everything and everyone is dirt dust, and you got it pine needles. So now there are pine needles everywhere, on the furniture, static clung to the barbie house, computer, TV you name it. Needless to say, we spent the majority of the night (kids too because hailey couldn't possibly settle for having pine needles in her every so new and clean barbie house) cleaning of pine needles. I was still reluctant to walk downstairs in my bare feet this morning, so I put on my shoes before going downstairs. Aww.. the joys of Christmas.

Busy Days

These days everything we do is centered around busy. It is honestly getting to the point where I am ready to scream. The kids, of course loving chaos, enjob being on the go all the time, I on the other hand hate it. Very much. I have noticed that lately Riley has been picking up everything his sisters are saying and doing. He has started talking back to me, as Olivia often does. Yesterday I told him to pick up his Elmo and put it away. Although he is only one and talks very little he looked right at me and said no! So I of course gave him the lecture about not talking back, picking up your toys etc. he looked at me very intently for a few seconds before he said no again. So then I had to put him on time out. He then of course cried, which made me feel bad. But on a good note, he picked up his toys.

He is getting to be quite the little man. On christmas morning he was so super excited to open christmas presents that he opened all of his, most of his sisters and continued to open the majority of other presents under the tree before he could be stopped. I then, had to re wrap the five or so presents that belonged to other members of the family that he opened. It was adorable.

The girls are getting more and more excited about moving. Lately it is all they can talk about. Livi is on a kick where she thinks that no one plays with her. Basically she says that because I wont stand in the kitchen for an hour and listen to her do stand up comedy with her new microphone. Heres one she told me the other night. "why did the goat go in the oven?" "because there was a cat in it"... she then proceeds to crack herself up and laugh. It is actually quite a funny thing to watch.

Christmas Christmas Christmas!

Well! Christmas is finally over and done with. The kids, of course, made out like bandits with toys strung from one end of the house to the other. They got everything they ask for and were very happy that Santa got to bring the presents a day early so they could celebrate with their dad. (he worked on christmas day) Olivia and Hailey both got new bikes, which they were really excited about. As well, Hailey got her doll house (which is almost as big as she is) Riley got about a million fire trucks, and tons of Elmo stuff. The girls also got lots of games, and computer stuff, crayons, markers etc. They were all very happy. On Christmas day we all went to the grange hall to have our sit down dinner with my family. the kids ran around and were good. Scott and Debbie, Allison and matthew were in from Mississippi so that was nice. The kids rarely get to see them. Scotty and his girlfriend were also in from New jersey so that was nice as well . We got lots of family pictures. Grandma seemed happy that everyone got together. It was nice.
The kids have spent most of the last few days opening and playing with their new toys. It will be great when things finally die down a little bit. Now we are gearing up for the big move, which is crazy.

Sick time

So, Olivia was off school again today. She has been sick pretty much constantly for the last few weeks. I have had her to the doctors who has given his opinion and said it is only a cold. Maybe so, but a cold won't make you throw up. She was disappointed because today is her next to last day at her old school . I only hope that she is feeling better tomorrow so that she can go. The kids are getting more and more anxious as the days pass for Santa to come. Hailey continuously tells me that Santa is coming in a few more weeks.. obviously unaware that it is only a few days.
Speaking of Hailey, the funniest thing happened yesterday when we were sitting at my moms house eating lunch. We were talking about some 'woman' when Hailey pointed out to me that she was a girl. I said if the woman is a girl then who is a woman? She stated that a woman has a fat belly and a girl doesn't. So I of course ask her the obvious, am I a girl or a woman? she told me I was a girl and I told her good answer. She then proceeded to tell my mom that she was a woman.. then tanted her with the ranting of a three year old "woman, woman woman woman woman" Out of the mouths of babes...

Christmas Extravaganza!

Today I raced from work just in time to see Olivia in her very first x-mas pagent. The entire Kindergarden class, including Makenna, sang their hearts out. It was really cute and very memorable. I was surprised that she didn't try to be shy like she usually is. Hailey of course would not sit still during the entire show and continuously bumped me as I was trying to video tape. Haileys teachers came to the play also so she was excited to see them. Jeannie gave her a present which was a bunch of thing, books, a very cool snowman blanket, you name it. She was really really happy. The kids are getting super wound up about Christmas. They keep telling me that Santa is coming in a few days!

Hailey's Party!

Today was Hailey's preschool party. It was super fun. She was a little clingy(which is usual when I am around) but seemed to generally like her class. (this was the first I had been to the center) the other kids all got along really well and they enjoyed the eating and game playing. I thought that maybe it could have been more organized, and maybe had some games and such so that the kids could have done more together then seperated into their cliques and played. But overall it was a nice experience. I was very happy that i got to share it with her. I am hoping that my not being able to be there the way they would like will change when we move. I think that me being closer to work will allow me to be able to better organize my work and home schedules. I talked to Star again today to just put the final touches on the babysitting. She seesm generally excited to be getting the kids.
The next few weeks are only going to be more crazy. The kids are really excited because it is only a week until Santa comes.

School day

Last night was a rough one for everyone. Olivia is finally starting to get over her cold, and Hailey and Riley were both up sick. needless to say neither donnie nor I got very much sleep. Today was a huge day for Olivia, since she got to visit her new school, Washington Heights Elementary. She was very impressed with the big school and seemed to adjest there better then I would have thought. She got a tour by the principal, Mr. Wolaver, who seemed like a big santa claus type. Olivia really liked him. She met her teacher Mrs. Reese, but is going to be in PM kindergarden so was unable to meet her classmates. She is definitely getting excited I can tell.
Hailey is also excited because tomorrow is her big party at school. She gets to eat snacks with all her friends and get presents.
Riley of course is just happy that the christmas tree is up. Now If I could just get him to stop unplugging the lights.

Registration

So today I went and registered Olivia for school. I never realized all the information that they would need to know in order to put your child in Kindergarden. The good thing is that it is getting closer and closer to moving day. I think even the kids are excited. They met the new babysitter last night. Star is her name. They liked her and her son Riley (and he is a boy, can you believe it) they seemed to enjoy everything about her and fit right in at her apartment (riley immediately went to destroy the toy room) Now I know she is no Marie (plus she is a bit more expensive) but she is close to the house and school and is willing to pick up and drop off Olivia. She has a dog, which the kids also loved and even Hailey warmed up to her towards the end of our visit. I ask the kids if that is where they would like to go when I go to work they all said yes.. Of course hailey said only if Do and Riley go.. but we knew she would say that. I have a few more things to take care of before we move.. I am hoping to get the kids room painted shortly after christmas as well. I promised olivia she could pick out the color (as long as it isnt that hideous pink that she has in her room now) Things are slowly coming together. this move is going to be harder then any before in that we are moving to a place where we have nothing and know no one.. I think that everyone will adjust just fine. Olivia especially.. she is a lot like I am in that she is never satisfied with anything. We'll see.

Meeting day

Again today, Olivia got sent home sick from school. She just can't seem to shake this cold. She was at the doctors yesterday but it seems that it is keeping her down. Tonight we are going to meet the new babysitter, getting ready for our impending move to Lemoyne. Although we have moved many times during your lives (its my fault since I never seem to be satisfied with anything) this one is going to be a biggy. We are moving further from Nanny and Pappy then we ever have. Olivia says she is looking forward to starting a new school, and I am looking forward to it too. I think that we are going to find out that we will fit into Lemoyne quite nicely, and all the people aren't stuck up richies like your Dad thinks. I am just excited to get moved and get on with it. I truly hope that you like your new babysitter. I know she is no marie but she seems nice, we'll see.

Christmas

The kids are getting more and more excited each day for Christmas to come. We went and got the tree this weekend and all had a blast putting it up and decorating it. Tyler even came down and helped. We were going to go to Christmas Candylane in Hershey but felt that Olivia was to sick to be out in the cold. Dad and I went to have a meeting with Santa Claus (Christmas Shopping) on Friday night and got most of what you asked for. You will all be super happy on Christmas morning.

Olivia, Hailey and Riley Posted by Hello

Angels

Okay okay so there are days when I wouldn't and couldn't call them angels but I thought I would create this blog so that they can learn about themselves someday.

Olivia - is doing well in school and everything. She is super smart. We got a huge kick out of her school progress report. She got a two in manners, the teacher said that she can be a little bossy at times. Of course DJ made a smart comment like 'I can't even imagine where she got that from' hey what can I say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Hailey- has got to be the cutest sweetest kid ever. She is loveable and cuddly and although absolutely rotten at times, always manages to get a smile out of me somehow.

Riley - is just starting to create his personality. It is amazing to watch him grow into this little man. he is starting to talk more, and boy can he be a little bully when it comes to his sisters. He takes no crap from anyone. Its really cute. He has this irresitable way of looking at you from the top of his eyes when he gets in trouble. I have to hold back smiles everytime.
